Family: Daughter of Nkombi, mother to Amahle, Luke, Jodi, Logan, Mac and Wendy
Kelly was born on the reserve and is a very territorial rhino. She was originally named “Ken” after one of the donors who supported the purchase of the initial rhino. Lynne later changed her name to Kelly as she did not feel a female rhino should not have a male name.
All five of Kelly’s offspring are still at the wildlife reserve. She is a very protective mother and keeps her babies well hidden. It took the staff three weeks to find her following the birth of her baby Amahle in 2018.
