Adopt Monty!
Monty is our 4½ year old blood hound. He lives at Base 2 with Michael and Steven who are his handlers. Monty had a rather difficult start to his life; his first owners chained him up and beat him regularly, resulting significant scaring to his right eye. Monty was rescued in 2021 and then brought to Mankwe, where his handlers met him and immediately fell in love. Monty has required a lot of corrective behaviour and has since overcome his initial fears and responses through the trust and support of his new handlers.
Monty requires a high protein diet due to the intense workload of an anti-poaching dog — patrolling every night and alerting his handlers to potential threats and poaching incidents.
